看完表演, 出來聽到兩個外國人的談話:「The band is good, but the sound... They should build another one...」
我坐四樓, 位置不是很好, 但也不該像是在聽回音, 「國家」音樂廳, 有夠XXX!

剛看到專輯名稱時一頭霧水, 花了很大了力氣想搞懂究竟這裡頭有什麼要表達的, 但在弄清楚後, 是阿, 是這個意思, 如同專輯的封面所要表示的, 很有意義, 很感傷!
還是來談專輯吧! 這是張好專輯, 許多的樂評聲稱 DMB 拋開了像2005年 "Stand up" 專輯中那樣的 well-manicured crossover pop, 並且重拾了像在1998年 "Before These Crowded Streets" 專輯中那樣 loose-limbed jams 的特色. 但若拿這段話去問 Dave Matthew 是否同意, 我想答案未必是肯定; 或許吧, 比起 DMB 進到21世紀後發的專輯, "Big Whiskey" 提供給樂手更多的即興時間, 說到段落的精心編排, 比起之前絕對是花了更多的心思.
編曲上, 從 1997年的 "Live at Red Rocks" 以來, 吉他手 Tim Reynolds 的充分發揮, 已讓 DMB 的搖滾味越來越濃厚, 而在 "Big Whiskey" 中更可聽到許多由吉他架構出的精彩段落, 相信這次可以讓很多先前不喜歡 Tim 的人信服為何 David Matthews 會對他如此地讚賞.
關於這張專輯, 這段文章裡有他的自信:
"This is a good record," Dave Matthews told Rolling Stone during a recent studio visit. "Even people who don't like Dave Matthews Band are going to like this record - and if they don't, then they just don't like music."

這首歌真的好聽, 內容大致上就是一個美國人在訴說他有多喜歡自己生長的土地, 但聽起來一點也不做作; 很難想像如果換成是用中文來描述有個人他愛台灣, 那會是首怎樣的愛國歌曲...
當然, 會這樣想應該是因為我中文跟英文的程度都差到沒救了!!!
